We're taking a break...

After 15 consecutive years of organizing the Charlottesville Vegetarian Festival, Voices for Animals' board of directors has decided that the time is right to move on to other projects. Instead of holding the Festival this year, we plan to explore other ways of promoting compassion for animals and environmental sustainability, and we hope to reach new audiences with our message. We want to thank you sincerely for your past support of the Festival, helping it grow over the years into one of the largest and most successful events of its kind in the United States.

Deciding against organizing a Festival this year was not an easy decision, and we have not ruled out reinstating the Festival in the future. This annual event has become a cherished community tradition, thanks to supporters like you and our wonderful volunteers. However, Voices for Animals is a small, all-volunteer organization, and the Festival is a time-intensive endeavor. We simply don't have the ability to coordinate the Festival and work on the other important projects we have long wanted to offer the community. If you are interested in taking a key role in coordinating a future vegetarian festival in Charlottesville, please contact us.

It has been a pleasure partnering with you over the years, and we sincerely appreciate your support of the Festival and all the ways you promote compassionate and conscious living.

The Charlottesville Vegetarian Festival: 1997-2011. Many thanks to all the sponsors, volunteers, exhibitors, and vendors who made this very successful event possible for 15 years.
